Just wondering if anyone is keeping this fish and/or know anything about it? Thinking about ordering a few but I haven’t been able to find any information on them on the net. There was an article in the may/june edition of the AMAZONAS magazine, but I don’t have it and my german isn’t the best anyway.

Maybe Matt has the paper at least? smile.gif

There was also a new halfbeak on the list, Nomorhamphus sp. “Fire”, which I’m guessing is this fish:

And a quick google search reveals that O. woworae is found schooling with a Nomorhamphus species.

Both look very nice if you ask me thumbs_up.gif

I’m really tempted to buy some, but they’re pretty expensive at 24 Euro per fish

Here’s a pic of it so people can see why we’re drooling:

Ref. Parenti, L. R. & R. K. Hadiaty. 2010. A New, Remarkably Colorful, Small Ricefish of the Genus Oryzias (Beloniformes, Adrianichthyidae) from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Copeia 2010(2): 268-273.

Well I went by my local fish store and asked them to order some for me. I said I wanted 5 and then she said she would order 10 so she could get them cheaper /laugh.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”laugh.gif” />

I’ve picked up 5 now. She didn’t unpack the fish and they came in 2 bags with 5 fish in each so I had to pick one /biggrin.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:D” border=”0″ alt=”biggrin.gif” />

Won’t be able to take any pictures until after next week. Turned out I got 4 males and 1 female. Luckily I got to swap one of my males for a female at the store, the other bag had 2 males and 3 females, typically my luck.
