    Not many Malagasy fish around. There are a couple of colour forms of this one and it seems they can appear in the same spawn.

    Nice-looking fish Graham. How do the colour forms differ?

    The most common one is the orange form, the blue appears at a lower frequency, although the blue is perhaps more attractive.

    Yes the seller was only selling orange ones. I’m already collecting eggs though so hopefully in a few month’s time I’ll have some of both.

    So the different phenotypes aren’t separate populations then?

    The fish we have are from stock originally collected by Paul Louiselle, and all from a single population AFAIK, but both forms have resulted from spawning them. Not sure what the situation is with other populations.
