I feel I should know the answer to this, but I don’t.

Can freshwater shrimp (CRS) and/or assassin snails introduce fish parasites to an aquarium? IE, should they be quarantined like normal fish, or can they be introduced directly to my aquarium. Currently there are no shrimp or wanted snails in the tank.

My guess is that it would be safe to introduce them directly.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

I wouldn’t think that either could host a fish parasite for long without the parasite starving, but there is always a risk that there may be something present in the water from the shop if that got into the tank.

All depends on how good your LFS is. I’ve got a very good one, so must confess I’ve skipped quarantine procedures a couple of times (only on the smaller tanks though).
