where to get mail-order or online rare/unusual fish for delivery in the UK??
i subscribe to glaser’s newsletter but i understand they only supply wholesale, which is a bit frustrating, its like looking into a sweetshop window but not being allowed to go in and buy /smile.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:)” border=”0″ alt=”smile.gif” />

You could try Pier Aquatics at Wigan they have some very nice fish in lots of firsts in the UK as well.

I have a friend keeping Xiphophorus multilineatus, where abouts are you based?

I’m not from the UK but doesn’t David McAllister keep and breed X. multilineatus (and a bazillion other rare livebearers)? He sold a couple of pairs on Aquabid in 2010 so maybe you could contact him.

Edit: Or contact someone else in the BLA, for that matter.

    Thanks Jamie

if your friend is keen to part with a trio (for now), i’d be happy to pay postage. i’ll pass on my email to you by PM.

i have looked at the Pier website but as far as i can tell they only supply fish in store, not posted.

i live on the west coast of scotland, 2 hours north of glasgow, great for water quality but not for proximity to any good fish suppliers

thanks Oaken, i should’ve thought of the BLA, i guess they’ll have a classified section in their forum?

    cheers Dave

Last I looked the BLA forum was very quiet.
There were one or two people keeping these swords recently around here. I’ll ask at the next club meeting but that’s not until January.

Also try Colin Dunlop who is a member here – he has his own business and can get hold of many rare fishes.

Hi Dave, I think we have “spoke” before via email and I am not a million miles away from you. I have been specialising in getting harder to fish and although not got any Xiphophorus just now I did have alverezi a couple weeks back.

Give me an email sometime via my website and I’ll see if I can help out

    cheers
    Colin

Just shifted this to the lounge which seems the most appropriate place for it.

Steve at Aqualife near Leyland has X. multilineatus in quite often, well worth giving him a call.
