Hey Matt, Mick and anabantoid fans,
I was wondering if you could post some pictures of close relatives of the blue Paradise fish on this thread. my pc is shutting off it’s browser when I try to access the knowledge base here. our local fish store recieved some odd looking anabantoids in it’s paradise fish order, and no one knows what they are. They were plum colored with reddish and bluish vertical markings, and long dorsal and anal fins similar to Ctenopoma. They were about the size of kribs and didnt seem to be juveniles. Very small mouths, and a head similar to a betta splendens…

A guy who was looking at them bought them on the spot, so I have no pictures and neither does my friend who owns the shop. thanks for any good guesses you might have.

I reckon Reva’s fish sounds more like the common M. opercularis…*scratches chin*
