    I know that this will probably turn out to be something known to you all but I can’t find a reference for it anywhere. Could someone please identify it for me? It looks great in my tank and seems to thrive even at quite low light levels. Thank you.

    yep, I would agree from the root structure it looks like Amazon frogbit (Limnobium laevigatum).

    Thank you both for that. I’ve noticed that my shrimps enjoy foraging among the roots and finding trapped food there.

    Hmm I had some of this in my tank and my shrimp completely decimated it! I was down to one leaf left!

    I’ve had to put it in a breeding net to give it a chance to regrow – no signs of new growth yet but I have my fingers crossed.
