    Have you ever seen them spawn, how they do?

    No. 😳

    Simply the fry somehow appears… and usually I do not see them until they are 1cm or so. The fry above has been collected from the water change dirty bucket and is being grown in a small tray, so I can see how it changes.

    http://www.micropress-inc.com/fishpic/ssfryq3.jpg — the smaller fry at 6 days with p.reticulatus fry for company (rets are unusual rainbows, the fry stays at the bottom.

    I’m actually motivated to see them spawning just to know who spawns. The tank has the original 6 fishes (kept for 6 years), plus their 4-year old babies (still smaller than the parents), plus this year fry. There were no spawns for the last 4 years… and I’m curious to know which generation is at work now.

    I think Sew01 only spawn at night, I have also seen nothing about it.

    My feeling too….

    Anyway, all three seem to be ok and the largest is nearly 1cm on day 10. And mine are not active until the feeding time (late evening)… but then:
