It is the blue on blue that is causing my problem the black font is very easy on the eye.Maybe it is only me,not wanting to upset the cart, especially with the new improved look sorry.

I kept them for a while but had difficulty in getting rid of my surplus fish. This is a pic of one of my males holding eggs/fry.

Cheers Matt, I’m ‘in transit’ today, will reply shortly.

I’m stuck in Norwich for the day with nothing to do so going to have a look around Maidenhead Aquatics to see how the Deep South shops compare with our own locals. Maybe I should play safe and leave my wallet in the hotel…

Did you see anything to tempt you?

Gordon you have started a very interesting topic which I am watching & digesting with great interest. As you are aware we rarely see anything that is not “bread & butter” fish in our part of the world.

In the mid 90s, i once ended up doing a water change in a pub’s tank in Glasgow one night – saved a big shoal of silver sharks and clown loaches that were at the surface gasping and spinning in circles. Cant remember if I got a free pint or not? lol

    Probably not Colin

The hotel obviously doesn’t have a keen aquarist on the staff Gordon, you should do a water change while you’re there.

I know of 3 people up here in Scotland who’ve got fry. I think even more down in England. Most stock originally from Allan Vassiere.

I would like some if you have any left when I come to the Fair City Show next month.

These fish are banned in the EU & are illegal imports as far as I know. There is a reference to this on Pete Cottle’s website.

I currently have Aphyosemion Australe Gold,Aphyosemion, Australe Park Mondah (1 female, lost the male & they are not easy to get.),Aphyosemion Striatum & Fudulopanchax Nigerianus”Makurdi”(2 young fish & some more eggs that I bought last week).
I have also bred Fundulopanchax Scheeli which breed like rabbits & they don’t appear to eat their fry.I had loads of them.
