    20ish??
Yeah, I am kinda planning to move them to the 120 l. tank, but the problem is that this is still pretty dirty from the goldies who lived there. I’ll have to clean that up first.
I have been to our local petshop to inquire about cory’s but alas. They don’t expect cory’s untill about 5 weeks or more. I don’t think the babycorys have that long, but it gives me room enough to clean the large tank and then decorate it they way the corys live, kinda South American-ish. Suggestions to do that as cheap as possible are very very welcome and I think not just for me.

Livejournal is more my thing since years.
    Everyone’s own taste, huh?

Thank so much. I am already missing my gold-babies like crazy, but it is for the best as they were starting to swim in their own waste. I know that even if I had the money for still a larger tank, the problem would only grow with them. This has been a very valuable lesson for which I am very grateful.

Hi Plaamoo. No, not in my area. But that’s alright, because I caved in and this afternoon all of my goldies, including the mouthsucker were successfully transported to friends in Germany. They will survive the winter there in a couple of large tanks and finally they will be adopted into the pond of this dear lady who came to (my) their rescue. She amazingly had the same mix up with her pleco. She bought one believing it would only grow 2 inches, but 3 years later the monster (

Goldfish are turd machines so maybe adding a second filter might improve things Liz.

I know (now), Matt. It’s incredible! They can stirr there living-water into a real soup in less then a second. A second filter you say? Not possible because there already are two in. In would be the third one. They keep on destroying them, like the internal one, that comes with Juwel rek.120, it was broken in six or seven weeks. I now use two Aqua Flow 200 Easy Clean Filters and I have the cartridges just rinsed and squeesed out to keep the biocultur intact, every 3 or 4 days right now and every day they need a waterrefreshing of at least 50 liters, from the 120 that the tank holds. It is that I love them like crazy, but I would not recommend anyone to keep goldies in warmer water, because they grow like….err..whales? And you cannot have a nice greenery with them either. I am close to dispair, because with two heart attacks within two years, it is sheer un do able to keep them healthy and happy.

Hi Plaamoo, thx for replying. The only thing that did change is that I took out the pleco (hypostomus plecostmus) because is was constantly sucking on the skin or the eyes of my goldies. They like the falling water so I always have a filter that lets the filtered water fall onto the surface. That there are too many fish in there is no doubt true and I know I have to cut the number down. But where to go with the other goldies in the meanwhile? It is such a bad timing at the moment because I am sure they would rather take the deepfreezer option than the slow death in a half frozen pond. No Dutch petshop wants goldies of this size. There also is no financial room to buy a larger tank and if I did the problem would only grow with it. I do belief that it is a lack of oxygen though. Thanks for your input though.

wow, I wish i could just drive over and give you the two 208liter tanks that are sitting in my garage. A friend gave them to me, and I have no other equipment for them, so they are just sitting there. One thing that would help is that you could construct on of the expensive tube sets that lets you drain and refill your tanks from the sink. They are so expensive in the store , but not if you make it yourself…I dont do the bucket thing any more!

Well a real python would be a little too strong for me but this product does interest me. Thanks so much, Plamoo. Thanks for saving this ol gall.
Now Malti, if you are gonna say something about getting bitten or strangled…..

This is a typical language/grammatical error. If one says pipe in my language (dutch) it would mean something like a metal or synthetic tube, not a hose. Hey Liz,

can’t you use a pipe for the water?

This might sound very girlish and blond, but: A pipe. From the living-room to the kitchen? How do you picture this? /blush.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”blush.gif” />

Nice to see you Lizzie! how are all the gluttonous goldies? I have an empty 208 liter tank in my downstairs office that I am highly tempted to put black moors in

Hi, Reva. We’re still under a layer of snow of about 3 inches, at least in my part of the country. My goldies all 5 of them they realy thrive, they’re all about 4 to 5 inches now and I fear my 120 l. tank won’t be able to hold them for much longer. There’s no money for a larger tank and I don’t know what to do about it. But for the winter they’re okay where they are now. It’s just getting harder and harder for me to refresh the water, carrying 12 liter buckets for lets say 7 or 8 times to and from the kitchen-sink. I wish there was another way to do this every week.
I have one black moore and she does very well with the other four goldies, she is one of my first fish, usually pretty active, well as far as Rhyukyns and Black Moores get active of course /wink.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”;)” border=”0″ alt=”wink.gif” />
And it is so funny to see them all developing their own characters. I just adore them.

One of my Lionhead orandas has what appears to be “grains”(brownish spots) on its caudal and dorsal fin, and also has a small red streak like a scratch…velvet? no other fish in the aquarium are affected by this – and the goldy eats and swims well

Hi Malti, how’s your oranda doing? Just asking because mine also sometimes have little scrapes or a lost scale after a run in with some of the decoration. Or when the Hypostomus was hitch hiking on one of them again.

Yep! That’s my guy! I called him Spooky, because he (it) always hid himself and I couldn’t find him. Now he’s in plain sight and today he’s called mr. Spock, due to the fingers-greet and ears of this famous Vulcan doctor.
Looks like he has to find a new planet, I hope he can survive untill better weather in the 60 l. tank. Thanks so much for your reply. <img src="style_emoticons//wub.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”wub.gif” />
