Having a trawl around for candidates !

You’re on to something there Andy. Notice the other fish upper right in my pic and the fish lower left in the linked pic, they look the same.
I think maybe all or most of the fish in this tank belong together?

    Have fun, Jim!

The first picture in your PB album looks like Sicyopus zosterophorum.

Took a few quick pics at Cahtuchak mkt. yesterday. There’s always interesting stuff there!

Been there. Mind blowing. If anyone ever takes a holiday to Thailand I’d very seriously recommend you go and take a look at the ‘weekend market’ just outside Bangkok. The animal / fish market is something else.

Glad you’re having a good time Plaamoo.

While driving yesterday, going over some small mts., i spotted this trickle in a gully. Had to have a quick look. Thw wife was waiting in the car it was quick. The stream had been dammed for irrigation, and there was but a trickle & a few small pools. Teaming with these little rsboras. i found out that the net I bought was not small enough mesh, so i just dipped the container in the water and came out with quite a few. I’ll need to get a glass photo container also as this plastic one is not great. I also noticed a few bigger fish dashing for cover so I dipped a net full of leaves from along the shore and came up with this channa. I was about to put it in the container for more pics and it escaped! This morn we’re off to the waterfall to test my new underwater gear.

Not rasboras Jim, looks like Danio albolineatus.

The Channa should be C. gachua of which the Thai populations are sometimes referred to as C. limbata depending on who you follow.

Great start, can’t wait for the underwater action!

Ahh thanks Matt, looked like rasboras to me. You’re going to find out how little I really know about fish!

I have no Idea what the first one is? Homaloptera???? Definitely a beauty!! There were what looked like 3 different sp. along with h. smithi but it’s very difficult to tell underwater. One had the color of h. confuzona but left quickly and didn’t give me a photo. These were all in a pool/riffle at the head of the stream. Last time the h. smithi were all downstream. last time there were hundreds of s. kochangensis, not one this time!
Matt, Canon S95 with Canon housing made for it.
I brought my Ph, Kh, Gh kits & TDS/temp meter.
    Ph- 7
    Gh- 2
    Kh- 2
    TDS- 15
    Temp- 27c

    More pics in the album….
