Hi,

I have searched a bit after european newts some time ago, and could take a few photos.

A big female of I. alpestris

I. alpestris male in a small and flat puddle of water.

I. alpestris male

L. helveticus female

This pic were taken in a deeper trench, not sure if it’s a male of L. vulgaris or L helveticus.

A nice helveticus male in my hand…

…and in the small puddle.

Hi!

Some years ago some newts appeared in my small 1000 l biotope pond.

Meanwhile they have also occupied some of the buckets in which I breed live food.

Very rare I meet them even on the terrace, or in the garden.
