    eggs — 4 hatched, somehow they did it w/o me seeing the development… :D Now the big problem: find where to put them… I’m jammed to the extreme, especially with those new loaches and gobies taking two tanks…. :(

    In re Aphanius Iberus and “normal” water — this does not work.

    When eggs are incubated at tds=150, ph slightly alkaline the fry hatches prematurely, with very large yolk sac, and dies within a couple of days. After losing nine of them, I switched back to very hard water (350, 8.0) and the problems ended, the fry develops normally. I guess I will again end up with mostly males but this is better than no fry at all. :(

    Really interesting info Mike, wonder if this is related to population as the Llobregat fish do fine in those kind of conditions. In how many days do they hatch?

    I’ll have to get back to you on this, I was not paying close attention… something like 10 at 75f.
