    See if you can find some calcium propionate (should find it where they sell baking supplies). I’ve just started using it to keep mold down in my Drosophila cultures.

    1 g dissolved in a liter of water. This is then used to make the mash.

    Hey

    I would never heat the culture base. Just mix the thin oat mixture with cold water until it forms a paste. Culture then goes straight onto the paste.
