There must be a good 4 or 5 inches of snow up in Newcastle..

Anyone not make it to work?

We’ve got about 6″ of snow down in Kent, with more on the way! Took me an hour to do a 15 min journey this morning and we left work at 15:30 so as to get home before it got dark as it was still snowing. Might not bother tomorrow!

3-4″ of snow here thismorning, took 1.5 hours to do 8 mile, a normal 20 minuite run. The first 3 mile took 45 minuites and if its like that tomorrow i’ll not bother going anywhere!!!!!!!

I’d estimate a couple of inches up here. The roads were clear enough though to make it in safely.

It must be terrible for you guys there …….. We here in Malaysia(Borneo side) are experiencing daily flooding and landslide for the last two months.

Trust me Haji, getting flooded is a lot worse than a little bit of snow

I just love the pics. But someway this looks so sureal to me after the very slow but gradual softening of our climates. How long has it been when we used to have snow like that each winter? I hope all you guys , working or not, do keep it safe on the roads.

That puts the snow in perspective. Most of the snow here in Edinburgh has gone already.

Ditto for Newcastle. So glad. It’s just annoying, and the fact that 90% of the UK suddenly comes to an absolute stand-still.. fairly pathetic really

innit just dunc, being one of the old farts here i remember winters alot worse than this is.
we older people remember smog when you could’nt see your feet but every b*gg*r got to work/school or shopping with no trouble.
were all getting softer lads and ladies.

i got to work, had to, otherwise i have to report to the nearest hospital for work.
i agree that we (as a country) are pathetic, and the cost is estimated to be over £1 billion to the country.
i remember the snow of yester year, it was shoulder high at times, but we loved it. i remember taking 6 hours to get from scarborough to middlesborough with a snow plough and police escort, just to get home for the weekend.
    ahhh the good old days.

I managed to get to work even though the council had not gritted the main roads, I was glad the wind changed and melted it all it is just ammunition for the hoodlums..
