Or at least, they look like eggs – literally.

Recently I’ve started seeing these pink dots in my big tank, and they literally look like white/pink sunny side up eggs. At first there were two or three, and just now I found several on the underside of some bogwood.

After doing some looking around, I suspect that they’re cory eggs (having 2 x albino and 2 x peppered corys). I can’t actually tell if any of them are male, however.

Either way, I am very proud to find eggs in my tank!

Yay!! Well done Headdy. Of course there would be plenty other members who would say that you didn’t have to do anything for this to happen, I am convinced that your Corys wouldn’t reproduce if they were not feeling well at all in your tank, so, here’s up to you! Let me know when you have fry, please! I have dozens of them myself since a few weeks. It’s so wonderful to watch them evolve! Congrats!

Would you, please, do me a favour? Could you, if possible, please post a picture of those assassin snails you mentioned? My tropic tank has been evaded bu two kind of snails, round ones and towering ones and I can’t get rid of them, I tried the vegetable way, I tried fishing them out and now I am crushing them but each time I do that I hear my own heart break. And as a Buddhist the active killing is very much against my nature. If, by any chance, I could lay my hands on a few assassin snails it would make a difference, because that would make me stop actively killing them but letting them get killed by nature. (am I making any sense here?)

These guys are Assassin Snails (I couldn’t take a good picture with my camera):

I also had a problem with snails in the tank once, and – with the exception of one with a pointy shell – all of them have gone. I got mine from Maidenhead Aquatics.

Thank you so much, Headdy. I needed to know how they look like as our local pet stores have no clue what an assassin snail even is.

We wouldn’t risk deep-freeze assassins, huh? Thx for the tip, I am gonna use it as soon as the temps get softer.
