Search “Fruit Beers” on the internet there is everything you want to know.

In my world the Ancient Maya were brewing “fruit beer” 2,000 years ago. Maize based and flavoured with the fruits of the jungle and wild honey. It was called Chich and contained Guaya, Ramon, Pitahaya and Chicozapote.

Beer has to have one of the cereals as a base. Rice, Oats, Wheat, Maize. Rye, Millet etc.
Basic beers are usually unpalatable and have to be flavoured or distilled.
