ok i think i might have gone a little crazy this last week

    i have 3 tanks, 1-160litr i think, 1-110l and 1-50l.

i have a black ghost in the 160l tank with 7 angel fish, 2 cory sterbai, 4 platys (maybe but not sure) 2sword tails and 5 tiger barbs
oh and 2 sucky fishy that i havent a clue about

in the 110l ihave 2 eels (which are missing) they are 3 inches long, 14 neon tetras, 6 guppys, 5 corys but dont know type plus probably 12 small red shrimps and maybe 15 other small tetra type fish.

in the 50 litre i got 6 goldfish in there

    my problem is this.

my eels are missing. i havent seen them for 2 days. my tanks are only just cycled

Hi there Ross, welcome to the forum Apteronotus albifrons? If so you should perhaps think about returning it to the shop. These get quite large and your tank is too small for an adult specimen. An adult would also find a nice meal in your smaller fish.

Your 50l tank is also overstocked; goldfish can grow to more than 30cm in length. Whereabouts in Norway are you?

Thanks mate. i dont have any pics yet but i will try to get some of all fish and tanks, i do about 11 litres from all the tanks each at once

im planning on upgrading to a bigger tank as the ghost grows, maybe to 400l or bigger. then the goldfish can go in with it. i have strips that test all the different things and as far as i can tell nitrates are low but so is ph which i had prob with in england.
im in egersund which is below stavanger.its a great place too

how long will it take for the ghost to get up to size? its around 6″ at min
also apparently the 160 tank is actually 206 but im gunna measure it and check.the sterbai are so active in it to, i have them in england but they barely swim about.

    thanks for the help

The knife could grow quite quickly with the water change and feeding regime you have. You mention low nitrates….how are the ammonia and nitrite readings? What patterning do your eels have? That community of smaller stuff sounds rather nice, by the way. What are you feeding the shrimps?

Nitrates are both showing as none or very low. im going to take tests in minute to check all tanks and i will post readings. i have managed to get a pic of an eel so i will post but im not sure how to put them on. i have managed to get pic of most fish and the tanks so i will post all. you are welcome to use any pics that you need for the site. well the shrimps are a little funny because i ca only find 1 at most so they may have died or been eaten but i feed all the fish, flakes, pellets and bloodworms. i put it in all the tanks ( except the goldfish dont get pellets) ive rescued the shrimps from the LFS as they where notin good shape. lots had died in tank there. 1st lot 1 survived out of 6. by the time i got them home. i live 1 hour away. but all 11 survived the 2nd trip. and i have 1 fish where its eye has been caught by something so its hanging off a bit. (dosent sound good) but he dosent seem to notice except he cant see anything on that side

think i have pic of him so i will post too.
could you explain how to upload them to you and i will do it asap.
thanks for all the help tho.

Hey Ross, here’s how to upload your pics:

When you hit “add reply” you’ll see a smaller, rectangular box underneath the one where you add text, headed “attachments”. All you need to do is save the pics somewhere on your computer, then click “browse” in the attachments pane. Select the file you want to upload then hit the green “upload” button. That’s it! You have plenty space to play with so it should easily be enough. Send me a pm if you get stuck mate.

    Cheers
