    A friend suggested they might be Botia histrionica.  Any help appreciated!

    I would tend to agree that Botia histrionica is a possibility.  But as Matt notes in the SF profile here

    there is considerable variation within the species, plus the close resemblance to other species especially if these are juveniles which seems likely.  One of the more experienced Botia members will undoubtedly help out.

     A very odd specimen. Hybrid was my first thought but I have no foundation for that. It just doesn’t look right. It’ll be interesting to see how it grows.
