Yeah I saw that, it’s from 1982 I think? It’s not the one I meant though. So anyway, yeah I still get that. Whenever I get some I’ll keep them just like I keep badids from Myanmar.

Has the article by Linke in ZZA ZZA 5/2004 been mentioned here previously?

I kept mine in a 20 gal with lots of plants and some other smallish, peaceful fish. I was always planning to give them a small tank of their own but never got it done.
    Temp +- 25c
ph 7.2-7.4 though there was a slight swing lately to 6.8 or so and may explain the losses
    gh 4
    kh 3
gh & kh readings were taken after adding baking soda to get the ph back up. They’re usually a bit less.

“Es gibt in der DATZ 4/2002 einen guten Artikel von Jörg Freyhof über Haltung und Zucht deiner Fische.

I’v got the article yesterday. not so easy to achieve as the DATZ archive only goes back to 2003. Matt has a pdf if anybody is interested.
    cheers Charles

If the eggs were placed inside filter foam would that not count as a substrate?

I personally don’t believe it counts, mainly because I find it very different from Colin’s experiences. But I think you could regard filter foam as substrate?

What are the key differences you think?

between me and Ralf’s observations with them? Just curious as to what the media was the eggs were put in and if that just counts as a nest like I seen?
