pop-up menu difficult to read

When I go to the forums tab and click the “New/Recently Updated Topics” for the pop-up menu for the “New/Recently Updated Topics” pop-up menu on the grey background, the black text and the white text show up great, but the orange or reddish color text (unread topics i believe) is difficult to read unless I put the cursor over it.

The lighter background makes the colored text readable, but it otherwise is not (for me anyway).
