    Hi matt ,I’ve got a group of wild Anchisporus too :) absolutely beautiful aren’t they !

     I think Tetrazona aren’t too well documented because the recent pics of S. pulcher have added to the confusion in the identification of Tetrazona ,for me the picture from Bleekers description actually helps with the identification because it shows a fish with a coffee coloured base colour which is quite acurate i m o ! they are quite easy to distinguish from Anchisporus by the dark ventrals edged by a clear to dull yellowish colour ,also some of mine have a little red tip to their dorsal fin but nowhere near as bright as in Anchisporus !

     

    Did you come accross any Pulchers on your trip ?

    No, we were only in Sarawak so on the wrong side of the island for pulcher – did get some underwater video of the anchisporus though…so many things to process!

    Here’s an aberrant specimen we caught which had a damaged caudal fin as well. :)
