    I have:

    5 Hermits
    5 Turbo Snails
2 Cleaner Shrimp Bought Wednesday night this week (16th Feb)

I have no fish as yet, but will be getting something next week (maybe a scooter blenny????) or should i put something different in for now like a couple of royal gamma (not false ones)

I have not put any food in the tank and it only has Live Rock in it, with little silver see through type bugs running around and of course Algae, polyps, worms etc… is this enough to feed all the above till i get a fish next Wednesday and start putting fish food in, or should i put something in asap??? if so would some Live Shrimp Brine be ok or do you think something else????

Please advise, i’m a little worried they will starve.

You can feed this lot some extra food by just crushing up a small amount of flake food and dropping it in. There is probably enough on the rock to see them through though.

As an aside, please dont get a scooter blenny or any other dragonet until your tank is at least a year old and full of copepods and amphipods – otherwise it will slowly starve to death – sad but true!

You’d be better with a blenny like a midas or bicolor, they will eat prepared foods.

have you done some tests on the water? Specifically what is the salinity, pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

    cheers

Is this your first salty tank? If so, I’d hold on any Dragonet until your experienced. My friend got into salt water about 2 years ago, and the issues over the myriad of chemical levels is shocking.

I’d stick to somthing simple to begin with!
