geordie JohnParticipantNow then, sorry I havent been around for a while.
Just wondering how people are doing with their shrimp breeding.
I havent done to well over the cold months , lost my Crystal blacks , bubble bees and last green shrimp ….all just disapeared ,but the snails and their peers make quick work of them !
My blue shrimp have bred like mad but the young are more green ( washed out LoL) than blue ! and my cherries have bred their colour out . Has anyone had the same happen ! The CRS are doing ok and I’m now considering only keeping them and introducing them to 2 other tanks in a selective breeding programme . Pups !! I may do another post to talk about them !
All the best,
G.John
P.s. I’m sure my family of Guppies in the pond has been wiped out this year ,I had a couple of overnight temp drops which the shrimp didnt seem to notice (well at least the CRS LoL) but some guppies which where overwintering in a bucket were knocked outFebruary 28, 2009 at 8:51 pm #312706
RichyParticipantHi John, sorry to hear about your losses mate <img src="style_emoticons//sad.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:(” border=”0″ alt=”sad.gif” /> Good to hear the blues are doing well, mine are aswell, wont stop breeding <img src="style_emoticons//smile.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:)” border=”0″ alt=”smile.gif” />
You say the blues look greenish, possibly a cross? as they can cross breed…
Orange/yellows, i havent seen many of them but there is still some shrimplets here but most are blues and snowballs/pearls, not sure which yet as they must have came in as rouges but i’m not complaining <img src="style_emoticons//biggrin.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:D” border=”0″ alt=”biggrin.gif” /> I also have many misc shrimplets too but i guess you all have that aswell. Your CRS still havent done amnything, not even the ones in the heated tank <img src="style_emoticons//dry.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”<_
My cherries are a stunning RED in the main comm tank <img src="style_emoticons//wub.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”wub.gif” /> but i’m not trying to breed them <img src="style_emoticons//tongue.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”:p” border=”0″ alt=”tongue.gif” /> I have some very nice pinocchios in there too <img src="style_emoticons//cool.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”B)” border=”0″ alt=”cool.gif” />
I’ve been quiet for a while too but i really should update more soon.
Good to see your still alive <img src="style_emoticons//thumbs_up.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”thumbs_up.gif” /> -
