G.JohnLovely fish John, where do you get your koi from?
I have got most of mine from Teesside Koi, very good quality fish and decent prices.

geordie JohnParticipantHi Mark ,
I got the S. utsuri from Teeside Koi they are good and its always worth looking at their tropical fish as well. I’ve got 5 other japanese koi which I got from Douglas Brothers in Sunniside ,above whickham ,well worth a look if your in gateshead. I didnt want any more fish this year but saw the 2 S. utsuti in Chilton aquatics for a fiver each ,their Malayan but one had lovely markings so I’ve given them a go . Their all coming up for food and my Shagoi tries to climb out to see if your about to feed them. I’m getting well hooked on them.
All the best,

ColinParticipantHow are your koi doing with the weather? We have about 5-6″ of ice on our pond
December 24, 2010 at 7:39 pm #320073
JazzBora150Participantunfortunatley i no longer keep koi
but i did suffer with temp drops in winter
maybe you should look into some sort of cover and one of the small heaters to stop ice forming in a small area this will let nessacery oxygen into ponda lot of people i know use the conseratory roofing material as it has many layers
im sure you know not to attempt to break ice (just checking)
