What are the latest developments in treatment for cancer patients?

The latest ones (that I’m aware of due to my kind of cancer) both belonging to a new group called “immunotherapy”. I don’t completely understand it but a protein or some kind of marker is introduced to the cancer. The immune system suddenly sees the cancer as an invader much like virus or bacteria. Your own immune system fights for you. It is milder on the body.

I was introduced to Opdivo (the first one I’m mentioning) the year it was released by the FDA after I had undergone a Cisplatin and radiation treatment. My cancer metastasized into my liver and this was the drug I was put on next.
