    Well, I know Jakob Geck personally and I appreciate him.

    But how should one determine female sexual organs at a fish that (if it was the female) spawned some days ago? And where is comparative material of the other gender?

    I’m sorry, I don’t believe that!

     

    The evidence that selatanensis is a paternal mouthbrooder is given in the video above posted by unissuh!

    If you look carefully you will see them mating at about 6:00min. The male is below, the female is swimming in his curved body. The ejected eggs are roling down his lateral body and fall down then. After that, she rises upwards AND THEN one last egg drops out of her papilla. It remains gluing on her ventral fin all the time, even when at about 10:00min HE, the male is picking up the eggs!
