I just tested some more water with the treatment and the levels are now ‘harmless’. I want to test my tap water when I get home, in case it’s a filter problem or something.

I have a gravel cleaner, that’s what I always use for water changes – so it’s pretty clean. Still no more deaths or illnesses, hopefully, whatever it was has gone?

After checking the symptoms of that columnaris, I don’t think it’s that. None of the fish have fungus on the mouth or any cuts. The fish that have died, the fungus seemed to grow from the tail up and the fungus grows all over the body, not just some areas.

    No other casualties yet.

There is something wrong in my tank, I was away for a couple of days there and one of my dannios was dead and absolutley covered in the same white fur. I dont know what the hell it is, any ideas?

The other fish seem fine, but the loach and the dannio seemed fine before they died.

I change the water every couple of weeks or so, bout 30%. The algae is green and is quite stubborn to get off the glass. The sponges don’t really work I have to scrape it off.

It’s probably that I have too many fish, I know some places say goldfish need like 100000 gallons on their own to be happy, but I don’t want a boring tank.

You’ll all probly say this is way to many

1 – The light goes on when it gets dark, and goes off when I go to bed, probly about 5 or 6 hours at most
2 – I have a whole wall of glass in my flat, can’t really stop the sunlight
3 – I have one plant in that grows quite nicely, I clipped it and made another one for the other side of the tank. How big are the floating plants?
4 – I feed them twice a day but I don’t give them too much.

What brand of fish food do you use?

Just the blue round box, flakes that you usually get free with the tank etc.
