ender2811ParticipantHow did you get the BBS under control M?
ender2811ParticipantHey M,
not a one answer
ender2811ParticipantMaybe.
Is there something that u can think of that would cause that kind of damage without exhibiting any kind of symptoms on the apistos. They look and act very healthy, one of them even had a batch of eggs in the meantime.
Would you recommend any kind of preemptive treatment? If it is a bug it hits real fast. The first zebra went from fine to dead in less than a week. And it looked very nasty.
ender2811ParticipantI added 3 A. agassizii couple of weeks ago.
ender2811ParticipantMaybe different growth conditions explain the difference in leaf size. Mine has been letting out leaves which are smaller than the ones it was planted with.
ender2811ParticipantFrom pics on the web it looks like nevilli to me.
A lot of albida photos seem to show wrinkled leaf edges and redish stems.
ender2811ParticipantThanks a.d. At what size would u say they are mature enough to make a definite id?
ender2811ParticipantCould I get a copy too please?
ender2811ParticipantYea, the supposed males were in the same tank. Blue/grayish bodies with red backs and fin linings.
Are there any behavioral clues to their gender?
I’ve also seen pictures of females witch look pretty much like the fish I got. Check out Duncs topic “Recent photos”. Its on the first page of “Pictures and videos”. Doesn’t it look like the same fish? And the males looked similar to the one there. Just not as much color.
Anyway, thanks bunches for taking an interest. Hopefully someone can shed some more light on the subject.
PS. Very nice tank you got. The one with your rams
ender2811ParticipantThanks for the help Michelle. Tell me about taking pics of these little punks. I took 700 million photos and these are the only ones that are half decent.
Let me try to expand on the photos a bit. The fish are oriented the same way in the group photo and the individual ones. So the top one in the group is also in the second pic, the middle one is in the third pic and the bottom one is pic 4.
They are very similar. I was aiming for three females. Looks like its going to be back to the shop for them.
ender2811ParticipantLOL, Ste I read this article a few days ago but i never noticed you were the author
ender2811ParticipantHello and welcome.
Your question is actually a pretty hard one. Most of these blank slate, what fish should i get posts go unanswered because the choices are almost limitless. At best you could get a list of other peoples favourite fish and that kind of defeats the purpose. You really need to find a fish or at least a group that interest you on your own, and when you do the people here can help you with compatibility issues.
You mentioned you got contradicting information, aggression and temp issues. What were some of the fish you looked at?
Also, your water parameters (GH, KH and pH) would be helpful.
ender2811ParticipantYea its one of my favorites. The pic is a little older so its a lot bushier now, just no runners as of yet.
ender2811ParticipantGot the file, Thanks a lot.
I’m not aiming for a blackwater setup. I’m adding the litter for the benefit of some Agassizis I’m getting. The rest of the benefits are a bonus/thumbs_up.gif” style=”vertical-align:middle” emoid=”” border=”0″ alt=”thumbs_up.gif” /> Keep it up.
ender2811ParticipantThanks guys.
Would you expect the litter to have an effect on pH of KH=6 water?PM sent Colin.
