laneyParticipantQUOTE (plaamoo @ Nov 25 2009, 11:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi Laney,
I think you need to be more specific about your problem and give all the necessary info about your tank for anyone to help. I’m probably not the one to help with this but if you post your tank info hopefully someone will come along. As much of this as you can provide. I’m sure there’s more but here’s a start.Tank size?
How long has it been set up?
Filter?
Inhabitants?
Substrate, rocks, wood, plants?
PH, Gh, Kh,TDS?
Ammonia, Nitrite,Nitrate?
Same tests on your tap water?details were posted elsewhere on this group “new pressie” to me equipment i think it was
anyway
tank is a all brand new set up its a vision bow fronted 450
151 x 61 x 64 holds 450litres huge
filter came with it juwel filter system
at the moment only homes 6 white clouds and 6 black neons my other fish are on the old tank awaiting their new home
plants are all types small n large to many to go through and i dint know names anyway
only have slate rock, marble and think its called sand stone gravel and a finer gravel on top of thatnew tank today
ammonia is 2.4
p.h 7
nitrite 0.3
nitrate 4tap water
ammonia zero
p.h 6
nitrate zero
nitrite zeroold tank which is 48 x 12 x 18 and has about forty fish in it
ammonia zero
nitrite zero
nitrate 5
p.h 5.5okay think that answers everything for now
still needing help please

laneyParticipantQUOTE (Bluedave @ Nov 20 2009, 02:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Do you want plants from specific areas that go together or just plants that look good together with similar water parameters? In a big tank you want big plants – how about some crinum thianum, Ech. Bleheri, ech Cordifolius a big anubias barteri with some ech tennelus in the foreground. Sagitaria subulata or ech. quadricostatus in the mid ground. Maybe a couple of focal points – Crinum calamistratum and/or Ech. Rubin ( a single ech. rubin set apart from other big plants looks ace in big aqauriums).
Loads of crypts as well that would look good. I find that large clumps of only three or four type of plant with a focal plant (or two) and some bog wood works better than small clumps of loads of different types of plant.
oh and what fish are you putting in there – may make a differnece to plant choice.
Eh????????That all sounds good but i havent a clue to what type of plant you are refering to i will have to look up each one individual unless you can tell me where to find pictures and names together.
The tank has a slate rock area shaped into a semi circle hide out place, centre is marble and the other side is i think called sand rock. Dont want bogwood.
The fish is a mix of everything really community tank, nothing specific, tetras, barbs, sharks, cats but will need to add more when its ready.
laneyParticipantWHICH IS ?????????????????

laneyParticipantQUOTE (Matt @ Aug 27 2008, 08:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hmm don’t think so unless you’re using Photobucket or similar Elaine. Sorry mate.
laneyParticipantQUOTE (Matt @ Aug 27 2008, 08:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Elaine if the files are stored on your computer all you need to do is hit the “Browse” button under the box where you type text when posting. Find the file, hit upload and that’s it. The file size needs to be less than 2mb. You don’t need to use Photobucket or anything but if you prefer to do it that way follow Anne’s instructions. Alternatively email them to [email protected] and I’ll sort them for you.
laneyParticipantHelp really really dumb blonde here.

Sorry guy’s i’m having a really bad day.Elaine
