thedonothanMemberHere is the thing about fish, it is hard to say what they’ll do, because each of them is different. I’ve had a 1 1/2 inch Ram bite the face of a ghost shrimp and kill it and I’ve had a trio of Apistogramma hongsloi in a tank full of japonica shrimp and not kill one of them. So my suggestion would be to just do what you think is best if there is a fear then I would suggest you not doing it. One bright side is the fact that well fed fish don’t really bother anything else.
thedonothanMemberDwarf Pufferfish, eat them as well and as long as you don’t have fish like bettas and angelfish, they will be nice additions to your tank.
thedonothanMemberHaving bred them myself, mommy definitely does the work, while daddy keeps all the other fish away from her.
thedonothanMemberThey are good as far as the gravel and food is concerned but they can over populate and cause a very unsightly look to your tank. I had the same problem once before and what that means is you might be over feeding. Sorry, it may be true. But, a remedy that I have found to work is to drop a algae wafer or some other kind of sinking pellet type food in the tank over night. the next morning you just scoop and flush, then try to feed less once you get the population to a more reasonable number.
