The small-scale glass tetra, Charax condei, is a characin known only from the Rio Negro basin, Brazil, where it inhabits blackwater streams. Rarely seen, it occasionally shows up in the trade as a contaminant among shipments of more popular species, and older literature sometimes calls it Asiphonichthys condei. A micropredator, it threatens much smaller tankmates and should be kept in a group of at least six.
