Inlecypris

Inlecypris auropurpurea is a cyprinid known only from Lake Inlé and its surrounding watershed in Shan state, eastern Myanmar. It is listed as 'Endangered' on the IUCN Red List after a significant decline, as farming around the lake has increased sedimentation, eutrophication and pollution. A peaceful schooling fish, it suits a densely planted tank with a tightly fitting cover, since it is a particularly accomplished jumper.

The fire bar 'danio', Inlecypris maetaengensis, is a small cyprinid endemic to the Mae Nam Ping drainage in northern Thailand. Also traded as 'tiger danio', it is most easily confused with 'I.' shanensis and Devario interruptus, and has a complete lateral line with 31 to 35 pored scales and a P stripe of contiguous blotches. It inhabits small, clear, moderate-to-swiftly-flowing streams with no aquatic vegetation.
