Acandí

The Colombian tetra, Hyphessobrycon columbianus, is a characid that appears to be known only from the Río Acandí in Chocó, northern Colombia. It is also traded as 'blue flame', 'blue-red' and 'Colombian red fin' tetra, and was misidentified as H. ecuadorensis for several years before it was described. Both sexes are silver with iridescent blue in the upper body and bright blood red caudal and anal fins.
