Nam Youan

Devario chrysotaeniatus is a devario from the upper Mekong watershed in Yunnan, southwestern China, northern Laos and northern Thailand. It first appeared in the hobby in 2005 and is rarely seen, probably because its natural waters lie outside the range of most commercial collectors. Its flank pattern is indistinct: a few short, thin horizontal stripes, a dark stripe along the back and a spot behind the gill opening.

Schistura kloetzliae is a nemacheilid loach known only from the Mengla River system in Yunnan, China, and Luang Namtha province, northern Laos. It appears restricted to highly-oxygenated, fast-flowing riffles of small to medium streams with clear water and no aquatic plants. A series of large black blotches along the lateral line, each connected with blotches on the dorsal midline, separates it from congeners.
