The variable stream catfish, Akysis varius, is a small akysid catfish from the Mekong drainage in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. The number of serrations on its pectoral spine varies, and in contrast to other Akysis with serrated spines, the larger specimens examined had fewer or none. Members of the genus live almost exclusively in swiftly flowing streams and rivers over sand, gravel and rocks.

Puntigrus partipentazona is a small cyprinid recorded from numerous river basins in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. It is easily told from congeners because the dark blotch on its dorsal fin extends onto the body. Typically found in heavily vegetated parts of rivers and sluggish streams, it is generally peaceful, though rival males continually battle for position within the group.

Hemibagrus filamentus is a bagrid catfish from the middle and lower Mekong river system in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. It appears to be unknown in the aquarium trade but is a valued food fish within its native range, growing to 420 mm SL. It inhabits slowly-flowing or standing waters, including main river channels and lakes, and riverine populations typically migrate into flooded forest during the wet season.
